What Our Food Commodities Inspection Includes

• Cargo Condition and Appearance Inspection — On arrival at the port or storage facility, our inspectors assess the physical condition of food commodities — checking for signs of spoilage, contamination, infestation, discoloration, off-odor, or any other visible quality defects that would render the cargo unfit for consumption or below contract specification.
• Representative Sampling for Quality Analysis — We collect representative samples throughout loading or discharge operations following GAFTA, FOSFA, or applicable national sampling standards. Samples are analyzed for key parameters including moisture content, protein levels, oil content, foreign matter, admixture, and safety parameters such as mycotoxins, pesticide residues, and heavy metals where required.
• Grain Inspection — For wheat, corn, barley, rice, and other grains, we verify moisture content, protein, test weight (specific gravity), broken grains, foreign matter percentage, insect damage, and odor. We assess compliance with both contract specifications and import country phytosanitary requirements.
• Sugar Inspection — For raw and refined sugar shipments, we verify polarization (Pol%), moisture, color, invert sugar content, ash content, and granulometry — confirming product grade and quality against ICUMSA or contract specifications.
• Edible Oil Inspection — For palm oil, soybean oil, sunflower oil, and other vegetable oils, we conduct quantity measurement in tanks or flexi-bags, collect samples for quality analysis (FFA, moisture and impurities, iodine value, peroxide value, color), and verify storage conditions and tank cleanliness.
• Phytosanitary and Documentation Compliance — We verify the presence and validity of phytosanitary certificates, certificates of origin, fumigation certificates, and other import documentation required by destination country authorities — reducing the risk of cargo rejection at the border.
• Weight Verification — Cargo weights are verified through draft survey, weighbridge witnessing, or other appropriate methods, with all weight certificates issued under our ISO-certified quality system.
